Discovering Water Damage

2/3/2020 (Permalink)

If you have ever experienced water damage, you know the challenges that come with it. More times than not, a larger area is affected than you think. There are a few things that you can look out for to detect water damage:

-A Soft Floor: If the subfloor in your home is made of wood, water damage will slowly begin to rot it and make it soft.

-Smell: If you notice a real musty/moldy odor anywhere in your home, it is likely that you have water damage.

-Warped Walls: Moisture will easily wick into baseboards, drywall, and more causing it to soften and warp.

-Visible Mold: The most obvious sign of longer lasting water damage is mold growth. Mold has the ability to grow within 48 hours of water damage.
