Dangers Of A Mild Winter

1/27/2020 (Permalink)

Winter has not been too bad, but many homeowners and business owners throughout Holland and Ottawa County are experiencing water damage. Most people think that frozen pipes are the only thing to worry about in winter; however, a mild winter brings a variety of dangers. One of which are ice dams. The snow and rain cycle can easily result in ice dams that cause roof leaks. Anytime the weather fluctuates above and below freezing, bad things can happen. Roof leaks resulting from ice dams often have the ability to go unnoticed depending on the severity and result in further damage to your home or business. Check around your structure regularly for leaks and remove any debris from your gutters that may be restricting water from properly draining when the temperature warms up.
